I was always getting into trouble with my parents for being a Ring Leader . . . Who Knew . . . it would come in handy one day :-) Dr. Michael Jackson

Dr. Jackson was one of the founders of Temple's Sport and Recreation Management program, which was called by Sports Business magazine "one of the top sports administration programs in the country."

Background includes coaching, playing and serving as an academic professional including player representation, considered one of the most knowledgeable experts in Stadium funding and construction issues.

"Everyone sees the romantic side of the game," Jackson says. "But people don't realize how many people it takes to put on the event. You need to organize who opens the building, sells concessions, keeps score, provides security and sells tickets." And Jackson emphasizes network building. "It also helps to have a love for the sport. Otherwise you might abuse your power, if you just care about money and not about the sport's history."

"Every business strives to offer a client a unique product, a unique experience," Jackson said. "I'd say letting your client see a championship-caliber hockey team - which is a sport that's somewhat unusual to some parts of the country - is a great unique experience." ...]
